Introduction :

Natdac comprise a leading compound like Daclatasvir. It is not used itself, it is used by combinational therapy with other anti viral medication involved in the treatment of hepatitis C viral infection of genotype I or III in adults.

Working of Natdac 60mg :

Daclatasvir is a direct acting anti viral agent which is used to cure chronic symptomatic HCV infection, with combination of Sofosbuvir . Daclatasvir- NS5A protein inhibitor

Sofosbuvir- direct acting nucleotide analogue inhibitor, NS5B polymerase inhibitor. Both leading drug undergoes to inhibit polymerase enzyme which is responsible for viral replication.

Blocks the action of HCV NS5B polymerase leads to chain termination. Ribavirin, it is a synthetic ribonucleic analogue which is incorporated into RNA blocking RNA synthesis. When ribavirin is used alone, it does not have anti viral property.

Side effects :

• Headache
• Tiredness
• Shortness of Breath
• Weakness
• Chest Pain



Dosage and administration :

Natdac 60mg should co administered with other medications; it should be taken orally as single dose.

Genotype III without cirrhosis: Daclatasvir with Sofosbuvir for 12 weeks

Genotype III with cirrhosis: Daclatasvir with Sofosbuvir for 24 weeks.

Adverse reaction :

Fatigue and headache, anemia, hot flush, nausea. While administrating Daclatasvir, Sofosbuvir with amiodarone produces some severe side effects like bradycardia.

Symptoms: fainting, dizziness, lightheadedness, shortening of breathing, chest pain, memory problems.

Daclatasvir+Sofosbuvir+ribavirin: produces some effects that may includes; headaches and tiredness, anemia (low red blood cell count) and nausea



Contraindications :

If patient taking some of medicines like phenytoin, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, rifampicin, dexamethasone and some herbal products like hypericum perforatum, they may hypersensitive to the active substance that induce cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) and P-glycoprotein transporter (P-gp). This may leads to loss of efficacy of Daclatasvir

Precaution :

Daclatasvir is not administered as monotherapy. It must be combined with other medication like Sofosbuvir, ribavirin, interferon etc.

Pregnancy :

Daclatasvir not used in pregnancy time.

Storage :

It should be stored below 25°C.
